we have invested in building classrooms, educating kids and supporting the daily needs of kids
CEHO has been developing the following projects. We welcome you to be part of these projects.
Education
DURING COVID LOCKDOWN we are providing online lessons for all students that have a smart phone or device to join in.
For those students who do not have access to this, we are providing worksheets along with Care Packages. These are distributed at the school in a contact-free COVID safe way. We are doing all we can to continue the education of our students despite them not being at school.
With the current state of world development, English skills are required for the younger generations of Cambodia to be successful in their studies and future careers. Because English educational experiences are expensive and hard to come by in Cambodia, CEHO has taken responsibility to provide free English classes and Computer classes to more than 250 children in the community each year. Our local English teachers, along with foreign volunteers, are teaching these children every weekdays. We are always looking for volunteer teachers to come and help us with English classes, computer training, and the library.
We provide:
Volunteer
Cambodian Education of Hope Organization is looking for volunteer English teachers to come and help in our school. Volunteers for our projects live near the school in a homestay and experience the Cambodian way of life. We work in the countryside about 40km from Siem Reap city. We are currently looking for volunteers for our projects. You do not need a ”Teaching English as a Foreign Language” qualification to volunteer for CEHO, although it would, of course, be useful if you have this qualification. Volunteering abroad is one way to make a worthwhile contribution to another country while simultaneously broadening your life experiences.
So if you are looking for a meaningful experience, then volunteering at CEHO allows you to give to a community while exploring places off the beaten track.
Volunteer work with CEHO is designed to help on a grassroots level. We make small changes in the lives of rural students which allow them to be more successful in life. However the change that volunteering abroad has on you is likely to be far greater than the change that you have on the country in which you are volunteering. But, you will have significantly helped projects that would never normally get foreign assistance, while at the same time developing a greater understanding of another culture.
Some of the bonuses you will get when volunteering with CEHO are:
What volunteer involve:
Clean water & dental health
The majority of Cambodian people live in rural areas that lack even bare necessities, primary among these is access to clean drinking water. Unsafe drinking water and poor sanitation are the main causes of illness and high rates of infant mortality. Lack of knowledge about dental health issues is also a major problem as in Cambodia a large number of kids in the countryside tend to have dental problems and the treatment is costly. Our NGO provides clean water for the students as well as teaching them how to brush their teeth. We occasionally give out toothbrushes and toothpaste to the kids that come to study with us. But we always need more financial help to provide clean water, toothbrushes and toothpaste.
We provide:
Bicycle
Many kids from many different villages come to us to learn English and Computers. Because of poverty many of them come to school on foot. Their parents cannot provide them with any transportation. Some kids live very far from the school, they need to walk about 10km to the school. CEHO is currently providing bicycles free of charge to the students who need them. At $50 per bicycle, this is a significant expense for us.

Support Daily needs
Education is a bridge to help people get out of poverty. Giving Education means giving hope. Even though CEHO provides free English and Computer classes, the kids still have other needs. We provide each student with a textbook, notebook and pencil. Sometimes we even provide shoes and a school bag.
